Why is it that we often get our best ideas when in the shower, at the gym or walking the dog?

It is because we

are allowing our brain to wander and daydream. It is important to give your brain time to relax, meditate, chill out or just settle, petal.

I have also heard that the ions in the water when in the shower help relax the mind and I often will jump in the shower when I need to freshen my mind and body.

You can use a whiteboard marker on the tiles or glass. I have put post-its on the outside of the shower facing in as reminders. The guys at http://www.myaquanotes.com/ have developed a cool set of notepads to use when in the shower :-

“AquaNotes® is a completely waterproof notepad that allows you to record your great ideas while you’re in the shower. Water simply beads up and rolls-off this waterproof paper. It’s so durable you can even write underwater. They’re recyclable, environmentally friendly, and the notepad is printed with soy-based ink. Made in the USA.”

Where do you do your best thinking?? Shower? Bed? Toilet?

Of course we like the idea of what we call Deliberate Creative Thinking better than hoping for ideas in places we have trouble using them.

And that’s basically what we do in our corporate facilitation programs, which we design with clients and facilitate for them so they get the innovative ideas they want and need, when and where  they want them.
