Do a Google Search on creative thinking and innovation and you will be provided with thousands of pages of information.  Start by going to the Mind Stuff area on the Mindwerx website to begin your exploration, but this is just a very basic start, and we will be adding new resources to this continually so be sure to check it out regularly.  There is lots of great stuff.

The academic article on the Relationship between Critical and Creative Thinking does so in terms of the divergent-convergent approach, and references some of the big names in creative thinking research.  It also discusses two methods developed to ‘measure’ creative attributes and perhaps how critical and creative thinking ability might be understood.

While optional, as a way of appreciating the significant amount of research already done on creative thinking, we recommend you read through this article and summarise in 150-200 words or Mind Map your thoughts on how critical and creative thinking fit together, and see if you can relate your own thinking approach to these two approaches.

By understanding just how much has been written on creativity and innovation, and the variety of views and opinions on it, you will be better placed to adapt and develop your own approaches.  Enjoy
